Forged Sports and Rescue Equipment

Climbing, rope access and rescue gear has to be light and reach its rated strength on every piece. Aviaforge forges carabiners and figure-8 descenders from high-strength EN AW-7075-T6 aluminum, and aluminum horse racing plates from EN AW-6082.

Carabiners are made to EN 362 / EN 12275, with a major axis strength of at least 22 kN (24 to 27 kN in third-party tests), a minor axis strength of at least 7 kN and a hard anodized finish in black or grey. Figure-8 descenders are hot die forged and T6 heat treated, hard anodized, and suit ropes of 8 to 13 mm.

Horse racing plates are forged in front and hind patterns, sizes 4# to 7#, with a 1.5° wedge option and a ball-polished finish. All parts are made under an ISO 9001:2015 quality system and can be checked by hardness testing, fluorescent penetrant testing and metallographic analysis.
